Math Tutoring Lab
The math tutoring lab (MA1-102) is one of three Math Labs at the Pittsburg campus of LMC. The Math Tutoring Lab is staffed during its scheduled hours by professors, math tutors, and math lab coordinators.
Students from most of our math classes are required to come to the math lab for two hours per week on a drop-in basis. This is in addition to (not in place of) their expected homework time (two hours of homework for each hour of lecture). Some Math 25 and Math 30 professors assign the LMC Math activity packets as lab work.

Math Quiet Lab
The math quiet lab (MA1-106) is a quiet, unstaffed room where students can study.
Math Testing Room
The math testing room (MA1-107) can be used for PSI tests, mastery quizzes, and make-up exams. Students must show photo ID to take an exam in the testing room.
Uses:
- Math 1 and Math 2 are self-paced courses ("PSI"). Students in these courses are expected to take tests in the testing room. The math department has a procedure for giving and grading PSI tests.
- Many Math 12 and 25 professors send students to the testing room to take mastery quizzes. Mastery is a required component of these courses. Our department has already written mastery quizzes that you can use for your section. Please set due dates on the mastery quizzes, so that students do not wait until the end of the semester.
- Some professors also send students to the testing room for make-up exams. Please put the student's name on the exam. Please put due dates on make-up exams.
Computer Math Lab (CML)
The computer math lab (CML) (MA2-202) is a has a class set of computers. Sometimes, it is open on a drop-in basis and is staffed by a tutor or professor. At other times, it is scheduled for use by a class. (See the schedule in the section above.) Some professors who have classes scheduled in the CML tell drop-in students from other classes that they are welcome to drop in, as long as there are computers available and as long as they don't disturb the scheduled class.
