Your schedule request form (PT Schedule Request Form.doc) is due to Erich Holtmann, the Math Department chair, by Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008. You may submit either email or hard copy.

Instructions

Please indicate your ranked preferences on the schedule request form (PT Schedule Request Form.doc) for the classes you want to teach. Please include at least your top three choices.

Most classes are grouped into 2-course "packages." Eg., Package #1 consists of 1.0 and 1.1 in the table below (see the "Pkg" column). The packages are constructed to be convenient for your schedules. These packages are assigned in a way to try to make sure everyone gets something that are s/he wants. If we cannot do this in certain cases, we will use the Math adjunct scheduling rotations to settle any conflicts in class choices.

If you fill out the bottom of the schedule request form (anything else we need to know), please be flexible and very clear. For example, say something like: "I am interested in one course, and any Math 25, 30 or 15 section after 5PM Mondays and Wednesdays works for me."

We will try our best to make everyone happy! Staffing assignments will be posted online, in the table below.

60% load limit 

If you make packages for yourself, be mindful of the districtwide 60% load limit for PT faculty. According to state law and Article 20.4.2.2 of the UF contract [Nov 2007], adjunct (i.e. part-time) faculty are limited to a total load of 60% within the district during the Fall and Spring semesters. There is no contractual limit during the Summer semester. However, adjunct faculty may be granted waivers to exceed the 60% limit no more than twice in any six consecutive semesters (counting Fall and Spring only).

The load of each package is indicated in the table below. Individual course loads are on another page.

If you choose two single classes, lab hours (if attached) can be removed to bring you under the 60% load limit. Or, lab hours (if not attached) can be added if the classes add up to less than or equal to 55%. If you choose a single class, all unattached lab hours will be reattached (two lab hours for everything except Math 25AX, which has only one).

Brentwood, DVC, SRC, and CCC

Pittsburg (the main LMC campus) staffs classes independently from Brentwood, DVC, SRC, and CCC. If you are teaching at more than one site, please be mindful of the districtwide 60% load limit (see above). Brentwood questions should be referred to the Brentwood Department chair.
