Administrative issues

  1. Enrollment
    1. Class rosters will be in your campus mailbox; also available on WebAdvisor.
    2. Wait list reminder: students on wait list must be added first, if space is available. Class maxima are printed on the rosters.
    3. Add/drop deadlines. See Lesson Plan Schedule
  2. First-day handout (a.k.a. “class information sheet” or “syllabus”): you must give your students a first-day handout. This is your contract with your students. Clear, fair policies on your first-day handout can prevent disputes later on. See also First-Day Handout Memo.
  3. Class cancellation. Although unlikely, it is possible that your class could be cancelled for low enrollment (less than 20 students). If your class is cancelled, we will make every effort to assign you to another class.

Evaluation

  1. Evaluation criteria for part-time and emeritus faculty, including student survey criteria and peer observation criteria.
  2. See the first-day handout memo on the Office of Instruction.
  3. Sample of a lesson plan which is designed to meet evaluation criteria.

Staff development Flex workshops

For Fall 2008, adjunct faculty have no flex obligations. However, we highly recommend that adjuncts attend Math Flex workshops, Fall 2008 that interest them. In addition, our department offers optional professional development throughout the semester to full-time and adjucnt faculty (with extra pay for adjuncts).
