Reports
- Basic Skills Resource Center meeting (Myra): leadership training Summer 2009. Curriculum planning group Summer 2008.
- Math 4 book for Math 1 (Poku): the material is the same but the pages are a little different (order is the same).
- Poku was not able to go to the job fair.
- Math 25 Lesson Study meeting was more focused last week and more specific about teaching/learning and how to improve activities.
- We need to change Accuplacer ASAP so that students will get a recommendation of Math 4, 7, or 9 instead of 1, 2 (Michael, Myra, Jeannine).
A.A/A.S. options:
What do we want to do with Math 15 and Math 18?
Students entering in Fall 2009 will need a course one level above Math 25 and with the depth, breadth, and rigor of Math 30 (e.g., Math 26 or Math 30) in order to get an Associate's degree. Will we continue to offer Math 15 and 18? How long? How many sections?
- Long term: keep one section of Math 18, and no sections of Math 15.
- Phase-out:

Do we want to develop new courses one level above Math 25?
The State Academic Senate has an explanation of the changes, along with a list of courses one level above Math 25 from around the state. Business has a personal finance course, for example, which may be altered to satisfy the new A.A./A.S. math requirement.
Next DE meeting: 2008 02-11
