- Program review due date delayed until November 30.
- The custom LMC Math 1 & 2 text has gone out of print. The standard version of the text has gone to a new edition.
Math 1 & 2 textbook issue (new edition): Poku will try to persuade current Math 1 & 2 students to sell back texts, so there will be enough used copies for Spring 2008. Will this also affect Math 4? Current enrollments (as of 10/22/07, at Pittsburg and BW combined) are

Enrollments for Summer 2007 are not currently available on Cognos. Poku, Jeannine, Michael, Scott(?), and Pat(?) will get more information about the textbook issue, and in particular, how we can proceed for Spring 2008 and Summer 2008. The Math D.E. committee will discuss our Basic Skills direction at a later meeting.
Improving Articulation and Persistence between our courses:
- Connecting Consecutive DE Math Courses (to be continued…)
- Group A: Math 4 (Fall 2008) à Math 12 (Spring 2009)
- Group B: Math 12 (Fall 2008) à Math 25 (Spring 2009)
- Group C: Math 25 (Fall 2008) à Math 30 (Spring 2009) [nursing students?]
Jeannine reported that as long as this is a pilot, we do not need to worry about enrollments for the six sections in the pilot.
Jeannine said this pilot would not interfere with the D.E. committee’s work on curriculum.
- Case #1: Add three new sections, and restrict enrollment to the learning community. Many problems (e.g. staffing, rooms)
- Case #2: Use existing sections, do not restrict enrollment, but give priority to learning community participants
- Case #3: Use existing sections, and restrict enrollment to the learning community

Future agenda items: Are we going to phase out Math 1 & 2, or update the modules?
