Communication is the cornerstone of any subject. It is imperative, for if a student cannot effectively communicate their understanding of a problem, how can an instructor accurately assess the student's effort?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

          

 

 Through extensive reviewing of finals submitted by LMC instructors, we have found that student performance on communication correlates with instructor expectations. Instructors who set high standards by requiring students to fully document their reasoning, produce students whose written communication skills are noticeably better.

Explain the aproach or plan

 

Explain the solution within the context of the problem

 

Describe the constants of an equation within the context of the situation

Explain how the problem relates to previous problems
